Inner Gospel
Daily Bread — scripture, a short word, and something to carry into the day.
Strength That Shows Up In Weakness
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
Paul asked three times for the thorn to be removed. Three times. And the answer was no.
We do not talk about that enough. The strongest man in the New Testament asked God to fix something, repeatedly, and God declined — then gave him something better than the fix.
There is a limit in your life that has not moved no matter how much you have prayed about it. A weakness you have tried to discipline away. A capacity you do not have. And the temptation is to read that as failure, or as God not listening.
But grace is not a consolation prize for people who could not muscle through. It is the actual power. The limit is not what disqualifies you — it is the exact place where something stronger than you gets to show up.
Today’s Anchor
- Stop Hiding It Name the limit honestly instead of working around it in secret.
- Ask for Help Bring one person into the thing you have been carrying alone.
- Work Within It Build today around the capacity you actually have, not the one you wish you had.
Morning Prayer
Father, I have asked You to remove things You have chosen to carry me through instead. Teach me to stop measuring my worth by my strength. Where I am weak, be strong in me, and let Your grace be enough — because You have said that it is. In Jesus' name, Amen.
